All Events are Free and Open to the Public 
 
MAY 17, 9AM-12 Noon at Mid-Cape Home Centers, 30 Commercial Street, Wellfleet (rain or shine). 

DO-IT-YOURSELF WOOD PALLET COMPOSTER WORKSHOP Mid-Cape's Gary Haigh will show us how to build a compost bin out of wood pallets, and ecologist and gardener John Portnoy of Narrow Land Farm will describe the biological basics of composting. Hope to see you there!

COMPOSTING BASICS

Join us  for a special presentation by horticulturalist Russell Norton of the Cape Cod Cooperative Extension.  Russell will cover the basics of composting, options for composting in small spaces, and how to use compost in your yard and garden. 


Please bring a seedling for our Seedling Swap.
Compost and soil testing information will be available.

MAY 24, 3-6PM COMPOST TOURS   (town-wide)

ANNUAL BEACH CLEANUP + community recycling event
MAY 3, 2014

9AM to midday, Meet at MAYO BEACH
Come volunteer!   Kick-off starts at 9AM with coffee, donuts, and beach assignments. Please bring work gloves. Bags provided. Sponsored by the Wellfleet Shellfish Advisory Board, MassAudubon Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary, and the Wellfleet Recycling Committee. Special thanks to AmeriCorps Cape Cod volunteers.

10AM to 1PM, TOWN HALL PARKING LOT

A community recycling event -- 'Hands On Wellfleet: What washed ashore...'
Come help the Wellfleet Recycling Committee sort beach litter from the Cleanup into recyclables and non-recyclables. Learn more about what can and cannot be recycled at the Wellfleet Transfer Station, and then admire your handiwork at the Town Hall parking lot. The visual impact of the sorted litter will help raise awareness about the need for properly handing trash and recyclables at the beach, on the water, and at home.
